Scotstar Final...
First Scotstar singing contest ends in a win for local Eliburn girl
Sunday 30th of April saw the grand final of the Scotstar 2008 singing contest held
at Da Vinci’s Entertainment complex in Livingston. After eight weeks of
competition, twelve finalists battled it out for the chance to win £1000 and time in
a professional recording studio. 18 year old Amy Hawthorn from Eliburn was
announced the winner after performing three songs to a packed out venue. Kunal
and Ritz Randev who own Da Vinci’s Entertainment Complex said “The
competition was a great success with over 70 competitors taking part in the heats,
Scotstar will become an annual event at Da Vinci’s Nightclub” The event was
sponsored by Tennants Larger, Coasters Discotheque and 4th Beat Studios. The
organisers of Scotstar are already accepting applications for next years
completion.
